The Salvatori Group is one of the leading transport and logistics providers in Kent, offering full package services to a whole range of customers from single pallets to full loads or for a special project.

We are currently looking for
Class 1 Drivers

Based at: Aylesham, Canterbury, UK
Job type: Full time, Permanent
Salary: Fixed salary plus overtime

Job role:
To collect and deliver goods across the UK and Europe as required with up to five nights away per week.

Hours of Work:
As per EU Tacho regulations. Weekend work & nights out may also be required.

Key responsibilities:
• To drive Category C/C+E vehicle safely, legally and efficiently as required.
• To comply with all drivers hours and Road Transport Directive legislation.
• To load and unload vehicle and maintain safety and security of load at all times.
• To carry out all necessary checks to ensure vehicle is safe and legal and to follow
   appropriate procedures if it is not.
• To act as company ambassador when dealing with and contacting customers.
• To complete all paperwork promptly and accurately as required, including scanners,
   hand held POD etc.
• To plan and adapt routes as necessary and feedback to traffic office on any issues
   around load planning and routing.
• To operate all vehicle systems including tail lifts.
• To comply with all Health & Safety requirements in depot, on road and at customers’
   premises and to take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times.

Person specification:
Must be in good physical health and be prepared to work flexibly as part of a team. The
following specific skills and experience are required:

• Although training is given a knowledge of drivers hours legislation, tachograph
  procedures and other legal obligations is expected
• Demonstrable route planning and map reading ability.
• Knowledge of load restraint procedures
• Essential literacy and numeracy skills.
• A commitment to delivering the best possible customer service.
• Required to cooperate with colleagues and be prepared to cover for absence.
• Work with minimal supervision and to use your own initiative.
• Be readily adaptable to changes in working procedures and practices and are open to
  opportunities to improve your own skills.
The successful candidate must hold a current LGV 1 driving licence and driver CPC.
